[Podcast] Air America: New Jack Rice Poll: Americans are Dumb.

Americans are finally beginning to understand that most of us will never be rich. We're faulting Obama for not improving the several hundred year old problem of race relations in a year, and for not fixing health care and the economy in the same span of time. Perhaps worst of all, we're going to start paying more for complex drinks at Starbucks, after Starbucks suckered us into an understanding of these complex drinks in the first place. Jack Rice is frustrated, but he does see a silver lining.

Jack Rice talked with Bruce Schneier, security guru and author of "Schneier on Security", about the recent ramp up in airport security following the attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Day. Bruce says that we are better off putting money into intelligence and investigation, than putting it into a security system that depends on us guessing what the terrorists will do.

[Podcast] Air America: Jobs Where it is Okay to Screw Up

Chaos erupted at Newark Liberty International Airport after a man got through security unchecked because he walked through the exit line. Jack Rice knows that there are certain jobs where it is okay to slack off (e.g. McDonald's burger jockey) but the guy who watches the exit line does not have one of those jobs! Certain positions require a bit more concentration and responsibility.

[Podcast] Air America: Racial Profiling is not the Answer

Since the attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Day, many people in the political arena have said that we need to start racially profiling people to keep us safe. But will that really keep us safer? In reality, the fact that the Underwear Bomber bought his ticket in cash, had no luggage, and had his own father tell American that he might be radicalized are bigger clues than his race. Jack Rice says it is more important to profile people's behavior than their race.

[Podcast] Air America: Guns in NBA Locker Room a Bad Idea?

Fellow Washington Wizards Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton are in not water over a recent spat they had in the locker room where they both brandished weapons. Gilbert Arenas has since come out and said that it was a bad idea to bring a gun to the locker room. Really, Gilbert Arenas? It takes you getting in trouble to realize that taking a gun to the work place is a bad idea? I think Arenas needs to redefine what he considers a "bad idea".

[Podcast] Air America: How Did the Intel Community Screw This Up!

After the attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Day, it seems everyone is asking how we let this guy slip through our security system. This man had known connections to terrorist groups, had been denied entrance to Great Britain, and his own father reported him as a possible extremist. Jack Rice, being a former CIA officer, has a unique perspective on this issue. He explains how this intelligence should have been passed up the chain of command and where the intelligence community went wrong.

A story was released today saying that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal subsidies for her family farm. These farmer subsidies come from our community tax dollars, leading us to ask the question, is Michele Bachmann a secret socialist?
