Jack's Philosophy
Jack Rice provides a unique media experience involving audio, video and print, that takes you to where news is happening. However, unlike a news report that gives you a 30 second to two-minute sound bite, Jack has a slightly different approach.
Jack interviewing an Iraqi soldier in the streets of Baghdad in 2006.
The world is a far more complex place. A place that has little room for black and white. A place where it is often the shades of gray that explain who we are and what motivates us.
Jack takes you to places and introduces you to people affected by the news and explains how these news events affect you and why you should care about them.

Jack interviewing Sheik Abdullah in Al Badir, Dhi Qar Province, Southern Iraq in2007.

Jack reporting from the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO, 2008.
Jack has traveled extensively with his show, taking listeners, through the magic of media, to places around the world including Africa, Kosovo, Kuwait, Israel and Palestine and UN Headquarters. While in Iraq, Jack hung around American soldiers and Iraqis to bring his listeners human stories they couldn’t find elsewhere. He was also recently at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to focus on detainees and the war on terror.

While in Mississippi, he went down to Camp Shelby to cover the Minnesota National Guard’s largest deployment since World War II. In addition, he also went to the Gulf to visit with Hurricane Katrina survivors who are still trying to survive a year later.
Jack chasing a story in Yasser Arafat’s compound in Ramallah, Palestine in 2005.

Jack out on patrol with a U.S. Army unit in Kosovo in 2004.
When it comes to the issues of the day, Jack also has a unique approach. Rather than grabbing the crazy right or crazy left approach, Jack welcomes all positions from his audience and tries, as part of the group, to come up with the answer. Further, rather than assuming he has all of the answers, Jack listens to his listeners. What a concept, huh?

Jack has broadcast shows from both the White House and from just off the Senate floor on Capitol Hill and has plans to take the show to many more venues in the future.

And one of Jack’s latest challenges has been covering the race for the 2008 presidency. Jack will be reporting around the country including Iowa, New Hampshire and the National conventions in preparation for election day.
